Sometimes I second shoot for other photographers, and on this occasion I got to photograph Megan and Daniel at the beautiful Blake Hall in Essex in 2015. The weather was threatening a downpour all day and we got some showers throughout the day. We managed to dash out between showers and make some fabulous pictures.

Blake Hall has been refurbished extensively since then and is still a beautiful venue to photograph and they put a lot of effort into their wedding couples. It's a long way from where we are but I'd definitely want to be a Blake Hall wedding photographer again if I got the opportunity.

I often hear that 'rain ruined my wedding day'. Quite apart from the great traditions surrounding rain on your wedding day, as UK wedding photographers you have to roll with whatever weather the universe throws at you. In fact, it's a great opportunity to make some images that don't get made when the weather is beautiful. A rainy day, drags your wedding photographer out of their comfort zone and forces them to be creative to make some great pictures for you that aren't the same ones you see crop up at each venue. Just a thought!
