We're Matt and Jacqui Burfield and we love to photograph weddings! What other job can you do where you can rock up and the fun, laughter and love are tangible and everyone is having a great time, and you can then deliver something that will delight for years?!
We're a husband and wife team (At last! After many years together we married on Jacqui's birthday in 2024!) and together we are Burfield Weddings, wedding photographers covering North Wales, Cheshire, the Wirral, Shropshire and throughout the UK. Matt photographs all the weddings we book while Jacqui jumps in with some of the on the day portraits of your wedding guests - who doesn't love a great photo of themselves in their glad-rags?!
Matt started off his interest in photography when he was given a Yashica 66LM, a twin lens reflex camera that was old when he got it - the model ceased production in 1958! After eight or so years out of the wedding photography loop for personal reasons, Matt has in 2024 returned to his passion for photographing weddings. Jacqui did art, design and photography at college and is also an accomplished artist. When we're not at weddings, we live on a quiet hillside in the beautiful countryside of North Wales renovating our house and outbuildings - it's like painting the Forth road bridge!
Our approach to weddings is documentary. We will capture the story of your day; the love, laughter, lunacy, the authentic moments, smiles shared, eyes caught. We are fun and engaging with your guests and will leave an impression, not a devastating impact!
Big breath. We have a horse, two dogs, a cat, 8 7 chickens - one is missing :-( - 5 ducks and several thousand bees! A barn owl has also decided to set up home in one of our barns! Oh yes, we also have four gorgeous children!
Back in the day when he was angelic (his mum thought so, at least!) Matt once sang to President Reagan, The Queen Mother and Vera Lynn in the space of 10 days, and they're all no longer with us. He now keeps his singing for the shower and road trips!
Jacqui is the author of an Amazon best seller (under her maiden name!).
We both ride motorbikes; the roads round here are sublime. Please keep schtum though, else everyone will be here!
We both hate to be late. Getting to airports WAY before we need to is a bind, but we prefer it that way, and with any luck there might be time for a bottle of fizz!
Matt carries a sewing kit in his camera bag! Over the years, he has sewn a button back on a groom's shirt, tied ties, bow-ties and cravats, helped grooms with their cufflinks (come on best men, where are you?!), re-pinned corsages and button-holes and safety pinned the back of a bride's dress!
